We are very excited to announce that Scott’s book ‘Sinner’s Creed’, due to be released on Oct. 2, 2012, is now available for pre-order at Amazon.com.
Be sure to order your copy of Scott’s highly anticipated memoir today!!
Sinner’s Creed is the uncensored memoir of Scott Stapp, Grammy Award–winning leader of the multiplatinum rock band CREED. During CREED’s decade of dominance and in the years following the band’s breakup, Scott struggled with drugs and alcohol, which led not only to a divorce, but also to a much-publicized suicide attempt in 2006. Now clean, sober, and in the midst of a highly successful solo career, Scott has finally come full circle—a turnaround he credits to his renewed faith in God.
In Sinner’s Creed, Scott shares his story for the first time—from his fundamentalist upbringing, the rise and fall of CREED, and his ongoing battle with addiction, the rediscovery of his faith, and the launch of his solo career. The result is a gripping memoir that is proof positive that God is always present in our lives, despite the colossal mess we sometimes make of them.
Plenty of news to catch up on from Scott’s trip to Japan. His charitable mission has received alot of media coverage. Here is the official press release.
Scott Stapp, Voice of Creed to Visit Tsunami Stricken Areas of Japan; To Perform for Fans at USO Military Base in Efforts to Raise Awareness One Year After the Devastating 2011 Tsunami
BOCA RATON, Fla., March 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — One year after Japan’s devastating 9.0 earthquake and tsunami, Grammy Award winner Scott Stapp, singer, songwriter, voice of Creed and founder of the Scott Stapp With Arms Wide Open Foundation, a charity organization dedicated to helping underprivileged children and families around the world, is visiting some of the worst hit areas this March to show support for continued recovery and revitalization and promote global support for Japan.
In cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, IsraAID, U.S. Forces Japan and USO, Stapp will visit with victims of the tsunami of all ages in affected towns such as Sendai and Ishinomaki along Japan’s northeast coastline. Stapp will also meet and greet fans and will perform an acoustic show on board the USS George Washington at Yokosuka Naval Base for several thousand U.S. troops stationed in Japan, many of whom have recently returned from deployment around the world.
“My heart breaks for the victims. One year ago, our friends in Japan suffered a catastrophe of epic proportions. We will not forget the orphans, widows and families that lost every possession they have known. God bless the all those at the US Embassy and our troops on the ground providing medical care, meals and shelter. I am looking forward to performing for our troops stationed in Japan and to let them know that we appreciate the hard work, compassion, and sacrifice required for such an extraordinary humanitarian relief effort,” Stapp cites as his motivation for visiting Japan.
Stapp will be accompanied by wife Jaclyn Stapp, a former Miss New York, children’s book author, model and national spokesperson, who will read her book Wacky Jacky: The Story of an Unlikely Beauty Queen to both Japanese and U.S. military children in efforts to inspire hope and teach lessons in self-esteem and positive outlook.
Fans will be able to partake in live tweets and video messages documenting Scott’s trip via his website, www.scottstappofficial.com. Scott Stapp is also scheduled to release an upcoming uncensored memoir slated to launch via Tyndale House Publishers this fall.
About Scott Stapp: Scott Stapp is among the most successful artists of the modern rock era. As Creed’s lead vocalist, he has sold over 35 million records, with 26 million sold in the United States alone. He has toured the world several times, selling out arenas and major stadiums. His song, “With Arms Wide Open” won a Grammy as Best Rock Song of 2000. One Rolling Stone writer has called Stapp “one of the most influential and boldest rock writer/performers of the past 25 years whose fans must be counted in the legions.”
In 2000, Stapp founded the With Arms Wide Open Foundation, a charity organization dedicated to “promoting healthy, loving relationships between children and their families.” In early 2010, Stapp flew to Haiti to help the victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake. To date, Scott has donated over 1 million of his own record sales to support the foundation’s worldwide humanitarian efforts.
Creed singer visits Yokosuka to thank troops for earthquake relief efforts
By Trevor Andersen Stars and Stripes Published: March 18, 2012
YOKOSUKA NAVAL BASE, Japan — Scott Stapp, the lead singer of the rock band Creed, toured Sendai on Saturday to see the destruction left from last year’s massive tsunami. Then, he stopped by Yokosuka Naval Base to thank some of the troops for their efforts in the days and weeks following the March 11, 2001, disaster.
“It’s amazing what Operation Tomodachi did,” said Stapp who performed an acoustic concert Sunday aboard the USS George Washington. He was traveling in Japan with his wife, Jaclyn, a former Miss New York.
“We visited Sendai yesterday; we saw the destruction and we saw what you did, so we hoped to give everyone here a time to escape from their responsibilities and have fun,” Scott Stapp said. “We want to remind everyone how much we appreciate and support them.”
The rock singer also visited Haiti in 2010 to help the earthquake victims and was impressed by the humanitarian aid provided by the US military.
“Most Americans don’t understand that the U.S. military relief efforts are the largest in the world. When the earthquake hit here, their first instinct was, ‘how can we help?’ That’s something the public needs to be reminded of,” he said. “It’s still going on. There’s still mental pain and scars. We haven’t forgotten.”
Stapp said his grandfather was in the Navy, his father was in the Army and his wife’s sister was an Army Captain during the early days of the Iraq war.
“We’ve been on the family end, so we understand the sacrifices you make,” he said.
Today, he is a musician and a philanthropist, but when Stapp was younger, he had dreams of military service.
“I wanted to be a Green Beret, a Navy SEAL, a fighter pilot. I wanted to do it all. I used to go to the Army surplus stores and look for cammies with my name on them and I’d buy cool patches,” he told the crowd.
Stapp and guitarist Brent Look signed autographs at the Yokosuka United Service Organizations office for more than an hour, taking the time to thank everyone who came to see him.
Petty Officer Li Tamondong brought his wife and kids from Atsugi to meet the singer and attend his concert later in the day.
“I told him I was a big fan and he asked my daughter if she was looking forward to the concert. I’m really grateful to him for coming,” said Tamondong.
After signing autographs, Stapp and his entourage ate lunch at the Yokosuka Chili’s with a group of sailors who had won a drawing on the USO Facebook page.
Later, in the cargo bay of the USS George Washington, the two musicians took a moment to talk to the sailors and their families before performing some of Creed’s most popular songs.
“We just want you to know that we are always thinking of you and praying for you. And there’s always someone thinking and praying for you back home. We love you guys and what you do,” Stapp said.
Hundreds of off-duty sailors and marines filled the cargo area, taking pictures and video of the unplugged concert.

1 yr ago yesterday, our friends in Japan suffered a catastrophe of epic proportions. 16 thousand men, woman and children died as a result of a massive earthquake induced Tsunami. To put it in perspective, that is nearly the equivalent of a sold out sports arena. The US took the lead role to aid our Japanese friends during this time of crisis. It will take Decades to clean and rebuild, and a lifetime left to provide food and shelter for the survivors. We will not forget the orphans, widows, and families that lost every possession they had ever known. Their friends, families, food, clothes, home, job, community, even the air that they breath. God bless all those at the US Embassy, and our troops on the ground that provided medical care, meals, shelter, clothing, safety and security to suffering Japanese people who survived. The US Embassy and the USO in Japan are making it possible for Jaclyn and I to spend time with both the victims of the tsunami and the American troops that came to their aid last year. We will be visiting children and other victims of the Tsunami, leading music therapy sessions, meeting with Japanese artists, and aid workers to hear their stories, show our support, and promote fundraising. We hope to continue to raise awareness for this crisis that began a year ago. I will also be playing a show or two for our troops. We want to let them know we appreciate the hard work, compassion, and sacrifice that is required for such an extraordinary humanitarian relief effort. Jaclyn and I will keep you updated, sharing our journey with you. Let’s figure out how we all can help. Click the link below and stay tuned. We’re leaving on the 13th of this month. http://usjapantomodachi.org/
One show is confirmed. Scott will be playing an acoustic performance for the troops aboard the USS George Washington on Sunday, March 18th.

(CBS News) Fifteen years ago, Creed stormed on to the charts with the release of its debut album, “My Own Prison.” Several hits and a Grammy award later, some may be wondering: Where is the rock band now?
It turns out, right where it wants to be: In the studio working on new material and preparing for a U.S. tour.
Creed frontman Scott Stapp is ready to tell his story in more ways than one. Five songs are already written for the next Creed effort, the follow-up to 2009′s “Full Circle.” And this time, Creed is looking to its fans for guidance.
“They’ve [fans] really pushed us lovingly in a direction to reconnect with our first two records and do it with them,” Stapp told CBSNews.com. Fans are saying, ‘”Come home, guys,’” Stapp added.
“We need to plant our roots,” explained the 38-year-old rocker, who hopes to release the new Creed album by the end of 2012. “We need to further reestablish that we’re all on the same page and we’re ready to move forward with the same fire and vigor of a rock and roll show and with that artistic expression like we used to do … So, let’s do it.”
Stapp, himself, sounds fired up about the new music. The Tallahassee, Fla. natives broke up in 2004, only to reunite five years later. The band’s ups and downs, as well as Stapp’s highs and lows, are all seeping into the latest crop of songs.
“It always comes out in our music,” Stapp said. “That’s what our fans are reminding me, ‘Hey man, that’s what started this relationship. So don’t stop doing it.’”
Fans will likely get to hear some of the new material once Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips hit the road on April 13 in Chicago.
A new album and tour aren’t the only projects Stapp is focused on these days. Also in the works is a memoir, which Stapp describes as a “first-hand narrative of the journey from my roots — from the day I was born to the present.”
Due in October 2012, the book will chronicle everything from Stapp’s childhood to the formation of Creed and its rise to music fame.
In 2000, you could barely escape Creed’s Grammy-winning song, “With Arms Wide Open.” It ruled the radio waves. Later, the band’s third studio album, 2001′s “Weathered,” tied “The Beatles Anthology,” for the most consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. In all, Creed has sold an estimated 35 million albums worldwide.
But with mainstream success sometimes comes backlash, a topic Stapp plans to tackle in his book — and in a serious way. Online bullying is a subject Stapp knows all too well: Creed faced some online criticism through the years despite all of its success.
“We’re seeing these situations happen all over schools, all over the world,” he said.
Stapp said he will address what he calls “mainstream media bullying” and how it impacted him as a father and a husband, as well as the lives of his three children.
“There’s a line where it’s personal, personal attacks from haters,” said Stapp, who plans to open up about how those attacks affected him “mentally, emotionally, spiritually and as a professional in the business — and why it took so long for Creed to come back.”
“We were six feet from the edge,” he said. “Thinking maybe six feet ain’t that far down.”
That has all changed now. With a new album, a memoir and a tour ready to go, the Creed today is a lot farther from that edge.
Creed has added a couple of festivals to their tour lineup…
Fun in the sun – you can catch Scott and the guys in West Palm Beach, Florida, at the annual SunFest on May 4th and then head up north to Canada and hit the Brantford HockeyFest on June 1st. Check the links for details

Creed Recording New Album, Revisiting Their Past on Tour Band to play ‘My Own Prison’ and ‘Human Clay’ in entirety on select dates By Steve Baltin March 1, 2012 10:00 AM ET
Creed are simultaneously looking back and ahead these days. While the band is hitting the road April 13th in Chicago for a month-long tour that will find them playing their first two albums, My Own Prison and Human Clay, from start to finish, the band is also well into working on a new album, their first since 2003′s Weathered. (sic)
“We spent about three to four weeks together jamming and writing new material,” frontman Scott Stapp tells Rolling Stone. “We feel five [new songs] have the symmetry and continuity within themselves and will make the record. So if you want to look at it from that perspective, we’re halfway there.”
Right now there is no timeline for the record, though Stapp says, “We could begin tracking as soon as March, and [if that happens] of course we’ll have a record out this summer.” Regardless, the whole band is in agreement that the top priority is making the best record they can. “We’re gonna continue to write until we feel we have the strongest, best album we’ve ever done. That’s our goal. If it takes all year to do that and the album doesn’t come out until next year, then so be it.”
Given their excitement about the new record, is there a chance the band could preview some new material on the upcoming tour? “We would love to. If we get it where it needs to be, we’ll definitely play it,” guitarist Mark Tremonti says.
Tremonti agrees with Stapp’s assessment that they have about five tracks locked in to make the record. “There’s two that you might hear on the radio,” he says. “There’s one heavier, high-energy type of tune. And there’s kind of a moodier, slower, longer finger-picked song, like ‘Faceless Man.’ It’s kind of all over the place, but we’re very happy with what we’ve got so far.”
There will also be some clues to the new album in the older material when the band revisits the first two albums on their upcoming tour. “It just reminds you to not overcomplicate things,” Tremonti says. “We’ll stick to making a record formed around these big melodies that I think were always kind of the essence of the band.”
Adds Stapp: “As we’re going through this material, jamming and stuff, I think it brings back the memories of how things were before the success – our relationships and how we looked at what to do, an appreciation for it all. It’s definitely rubbing off on the new music.”
Scott, always willing to support his local community, is scheduled to appear at a charity event on March 24, 2012, for the Boynton Beach Police Department.
