Scott performed 'Higher' and 'With Arms Wide Open' last night at the NASCAR Awards Ceremony with new backing band goneblind! Only 'Higher' was aired, and we've got the video - great television debut for this new group! In case you missed it, it's repeating on Sunday on NBC - check your local listings. Scott did an interview with Australia's Sunday Telegraph in which he elaborates on his desire to act (thanks HopiSpirit!), and talks more about his faith with Relevant Magazine. There's a new version of Relearn Love posted to Scottstapp.com - apparently in preparation for the radio 'impact date,' which according to Steve Karas, Wind-Up's publicist, is October 17. Former Creed lead singer Scott Stapp talks about his spiritual struggles to Christian publication World Magazine

Scott wrote a brief playbook on last week's Miami vs. FSU game (10-16, Miami) for Sports Illustrated On Campus, from the perspective of his friendship with Miami QB Brock Berlin. We've also learned that Scott will be part of a cover story for HM Magazine's Nov/Dec issue, so look for us to have that posted in the coming weeks! Lots of new info in articles! Tea Party's Jeff Martin praised Scott in Rolling Stone and ChartAttack, while Scott praised Mel Gibson on HeavyMetalMusic.biz. Learn that Scott helped bring the Passion album to Wind-Up in Billboard's interview, and Scott and Tea Party will be hitting the studio in September for the solo album according to Big News Network.

Wind-Up has confirmed that Scott will be appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on September 3. He's scheduled to appear with The Tea Party as a musical guest performing Relearn Love.

MTV.com published an article today speaking about the inspirations behind the Passion album: "The [film] basically inspired me to readdress my feelings about love and what true love is," Stapp explained. The Passion of the Christ soundtrack, release date August 31, is now available for preorder from Amazon.com. The lead single on this star-studded album (Rob Thomas, POD) will be Scott's 'Relearn Love'.

Scott had a brief appearance on VH1's 'I Love the 90s: 1993' where he shed some light on what he'd do if he existed in the Quantum Leap universe: If he could 'Leap' into anybody he chose, who would it be? From eurweb.com: It's no secret that actor/comedian Jamie Foxx can "sang." In fact, he was nominated at the BET Awards for Best Collaboration along with Kanye West and Twista for "Slow Jamz." "We're gonna get back in the lab and come out with something incredible, something that is so great," Foxx told MTV. The actor, who released his only album, "Peep This" a decade ago, is finalizing the follow-up with Kanye, among many others. While the track list has yet to be decided for the fall release, Foxx has logged studio time with everyone from Snoop Dogg and Tank to Scott Stapp and Slash. "You never know what might be on it. We might do 46 tracks, 'cause I got friends," Foxx said. "It's gonna be called Ambidextrous, which means I'm goin' in different ways. It's gonna be a grown-up record."

ThirdDay.com webjournal - June 30, 2004 So we're in the studio right now (sans Mac)-sans means without! We're working on a song for a compilation of songs inspired by "The Passion of the Christ". Also in the studio with us are Steven Curtis Chapman and Bart Millard of Mercy Me. The recording is moving along swiftly and it sounds awesome! It's such an honor to work with these two extremely talented guys. I think all of you are going to like it. Also on the compilation are Lauren Hill, Scott Stapp (Creed), Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20), POD, Brad Paisley to name a few so we'll be in some pretty impressive company. Well, I won't say much more about it now but you'll hear it soon enough!

Wind-up Records told Christianity Today that Stapp's song, "Relearn Love," will be the first radio single from the album. Wind-up won't yet release names of other artists on the album, as the final lineup has not yet been determined and musicians around the world are now in studios recording their songs. Rumor has it, however, that P.O.D. will be one of the featured artists.

"Scott had discussed doing something like this with Mel Gibson and his people," Wind-up spokesman Steve Karas told Christian Music Today. "Like many others, Scott was impacted by the film. Every artist who is contributing to the album has seen the film and was moved to write something about it."

Wind-Up Records announced today that Creed has disbanded. Stapp shared, "Creed was one of the most amazing journeys through music and friendship I am blessed to say I was a part of. I made memories I can never replace! I just want to thank the fans who supported us and became a part of the Creed experience. We could not have accomplished anything without you!(fans)." Local6.com reports that four guitars were stolen out of the trunk of a car parked in Scott's driveway. Miami Police say the guitars - two of which were custom made and have a combined retail value of $150,000 - were taken on May 11. WWD reports: "Shopping wasn't an option, but Tommy Lee Jones, Gloria Estefan, Julio Iglesias, Creed's Scott Stapp and Don Shula were out in force anyway for Friday's Fashion Destination at the Shops at Bal Harbour... According to PR Newswire, the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis last night (February 27) held "Destination: Fashion" an event that brought together 2,000 of Florida's big spenders to raise money for the foundation. In the news story "Backstage at the 2004 Grammys" MTV reports: "As the night began to wind down, Beyoncé was stopped by Creed's Scott Stapp. 'Congratulations,' he said, giving the Houston native props on the night. In a guest appearance on the Best Damn Sports Show Period, Scott revealed that his new album will be released late this year and that he will be working with producer 7 Aurelius. He added: "I'm kind of trying to re-invent the rock wheel, man... I'm taking my sound - kinda Zeppelin, Doors - and then I'm colliding it with some of those grooves that make your 15s thump in the back, with my voice singing rock over top of it." The Reach for the Stars Foundation Benefiting Individuals with Cystic Fibrosis announced its second annual Stars 4 Stars Weekend. Scott Stapp and other celebrities were present for the announcement.
